Highest Expected Disaster Loss per Household in Massachusetts
FEMA publishes an expected annual loss for every county, but the raw figure tracks how much there is to lose, so a national list of it is really a list of large metros. Dividing by occupied housing units gives the number an individual owner can use. Expected annual loss is FEMA's National Risk Index figure for the county, divided by the number of occupied housing units the Census reports there. It is an actuarial average, not a forecast for any one year.
